For Vandebron, a provider of green energy, Parella delivered the headquarters in a former machine factory dating back to 1901 near Amsterdam Central Station. The objective was to create a future-proof working environment that aligns with Vandebron’s sustainable mission while respecting the building’s historical character.

The conception & realisation

Parella was responsible for brokerage, location selection, and full project management. The distinctive building was selected and leased due to its industrial character and strong alignment with Vandebron’s brand and ambitions.

In close collaboration with the design team, Parella managed planning, budget, and quality from the design phase through to delivery. The interior design introduced a new spatial structure within the existing shell, featuring clear zoning and a recognizable central core. This makes collaboration, interaction, and navigation intuitive.

Across approximately 1,600 m², original elements were consciously preserved and enhanced. Sightlines, level changes, and subtle transitions contribute to a logical flow and spatial experience. Each floor highlights its unique qualities: steel columns on the ground floor and wooden trusses in the attic. The result is a flexible, stimulating, and sustainable working environment where history and modern workplace requirements reinforce one another.

Acting as both office broker and commercial real estate advisor, we guided the entire process—from workplace consultancy and brokerage to office design and Design & Build. ― For ZonMw, an organization that programs and funds research and innovation in health, care, and well-being, Parella supported the lease renegotiation and developed an initial workplace concept. The objective was to transform an outdated, closed office environment into a future-proof, sustainable, and hybrid working environment that aligns with the organization’s evolving way of working and growth.

― In New Babylon, The Hague, we created an entirely new interior for Netbeheer Nederland that reflects their identity and their role in the energy transition. From Parella, we guided the entire process, from strategy and concept to design, project management, and execution, resulting in a work environment in which connection, energy, and collaboration are central.
